Real Ale Ray left this review about The Wallace Hartley (JD Wetherspoon)

A very respectable Spoons this one that has been tastefully finished. The main features in here was the black glazed tiles along the bar front and ceiling columns throughout the pub, there was also a lot wall sections finished with patterned silver wallpaper. The rest of the walls were finished in oak panelling. Ten handpumps, with seven in use, we went for the Worsthorne Blonde Violin, which was in great shape.

Apparently this was built as a pub / hotel called the Kings Head but was a Greek restaurant before JDW moved in. It's an open plan roughly square room with fairly typical fixtures and fittings. It was busy with a mixed clientele on my Wednesday evening visit.
The bar has ten hand pumps which had two unused, one available soon, a cider, the two GK beers, Hobgoblin, Coach House Blueberry, Peerless Penny Red Rye and Moorhouse Blond Witch. I went for the Penny Red Rye (£1.99) which was first class and superb value.
I thought this was a good Spoons.

Decent one roomed pub with a few offcuts. Usual selection of real ales including Peerless Tectonic @ 6.2% ABV. Would return.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Wallace Hartley

Large 'spoons, named after the brave bandmaster who ensured that the music famously played on whilst the Titanic was going down. Large square bar area.. Patio beer garden. Excellent selection from ten handpumps, including the local Goose Eye Barm Pot at a remarkable £1.79. Visited during the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival when the place was heaving, but the staff were coping well and this place is clearly well run.

One of the nicest and best run Wetherspoons I have encountered. Friendly staff, good service, and always six to eight excellent cask ales. HighLy recommended!
