The Hollow Tree reopened as "The Partridge" May 2017 after major refurb/rebuild. Two regular ales served from Coach House and Tatton breweries + four changing guest ales. Accommodation is now available in 10 bedrooms.

September 2012. Party of 14 Pre-booked Saturday 5pm 'ish. We were greeted and led to our tables because our party was so large they cordoned off a whole section opposite the carvery serving section. Full waitress service was offered but lots of our party had already made it to the bar and organised their own drinks. Two of the party opted for the carvery and really enjoyed the meal but at nearly £16.00 for two this was rather over priced, considering what else is available nearby. The rest of the party took advantage of the two for one offer (cheapest meal free)and on the whole the portions were plentiful, the food properly cooked and served efficiently and smoothly. Average price of meals is between £9 and £16 but the two for one offer brings them back into the more reasonably priced bracket. Drinks were averagely priced although soft drinks were extremely expensive (as they always seem to be everywhere these days). Some of the party had deserts (not part of the two for one offer) and they were reasonably sized and very tasty.
If there was one problem to this pub it is the dismal lighting that they have in there. Whilst there is a lovely light conservatory attached to the side of the building this is where families reside (for the children playing outside) and the rest of the through-fare and tables are rather dark - time for more powerful bulbs, I think.
All in all a pleasurable experience, with good food and pleasant service at a reasonable price. We probably would return at some point in the future.

Another "faceless" chain pub.
Nothing different from 1000's of others.
If normal makes you happy then by all means take a look. It's got all the standard stuff you want in a normal pub. Not for me though.
