Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Hadley Bowling Green Inn

Old country inn out in the sticks, but famous for a couple of things: 1) Guido Fawkes and some of his co-conspirators apparently did some of their plotting here before 1605; and 2) it is supposed to have the oldest remaining crown green. Anyway, it is now an upmarket, multi-room dining pub with several different patio and grassed beer gardens together with accommodation. Now owned by Butcombe, I found Original, Gold and Citra (£4.75) available from a total of six handpumps.

Off the beaten track, but well worth seeking out. The bowling green is reputed to be the oldest 'crown' green in the country!
