Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about St John

Funny place, with the bar (and a bakery) in a covered yard to the rear of the main restaurant. Sitting at the basic square wooden tables between the whitewashed walls and under the towering atrium feels distinctly odd. On the plus side, there are four handpumps offering two Redemption beers - Trinity and Big Chief - plus 6X (£4.50, which seems more reasonable when the wine by the glass starts at £6.50 and goes to £12.75) and a cider.

hondo . left this review about St John

A former smokehouse (ham and bacon smoking ceased in 1967)situated around the corner from London's Smithfield Market.
Retains it's industrial heritage in a proper honest original way(old concrete floors, high ceilings, steel stairs etc) unlike pubs that try and create history. Dining in a separate room on a raised level with snacks available in the bar area. 3 real ales and "craft" keg served. It won't be to everyone's taste and is pricey £5.20 for my pints but in a world of chain/corporate venues it's nice to visit something different. Bakery products available to take away
