The second pub we visited in Brancaster Staithe, this one benefits from a very large outdoor area overlooking the salt marshes and stretching some way towards the water. We actually chose to sit to the front of the pub, where an outdoor kitchen were preparing various seafood dishes and there was some kind of sunken garden area.

Ales on were Woodforde's Wherry, Greene King Abbot, Brancaster Oystercatcher & Barsham Golden Close IPA. Bar staff were quite friendly. Some of the customers seemed a bit up themselves. The one woman stood next to me at the bar complaining that the only people she knew were the bar staff and that all of the customers were tourists. I quite agree. Although what she seemingly failed to realise was that it is the tourists that keep her local open. Without them, there wouldn't be enough custom to keep two pubs open and I know which one would be more likely to close.

The White Horse is more of an hotel and restaurant than a boozer really but if eating in the large conservatory style restaurant at the back then there are great views of Brancaster marshes. The food in the restaurant sources local produce, seafood, game and meat and is good but is probably overrated and overpriced.
The bar, which is at the front, feels modern and lacking in atmosphere. It is pine throughout with a pool table to the left. Again, bar food isn't cheap and in my experience doesn't necessarily offer value.
Beer: Two from the Brancaster brewery, Best and The Wreck SS Vina which went down well in addition to the, ubiquitous in this area, Woodforde Wherry.
The views are magnificent if you're eating but for me The Jolly Sailors down the road is preferable for a pint or two.

Not sure if this The Lobster Pot under a new name, but I've added the web site.
