A new frontage to the pub and back to the original name of The War Office. Interior has not changed from the earlier review below. Belhaven Best on draught.

David Ross left this review about The War Office

Now called the “Motherwell War Office” (according to exterior signage), there is apparently a historical justification for the curious name, as the building served as a war office during World War Two. The military connection has been continued with war medals in glass cases on the walls, an army bugle on a window sill and graphics of soldiers on external and internal windows. Charity collections for Erskine Royal Military Hospital and Help for Heroes are also advertised. The walls in one corner are covered in Rangers photographs and something called “The Big Fat Rangers Quiz” takes place once a week. Proximity to the town’s Orange Hall presumably provides some custom from that direction. On the drinking front, Tennents and Carling lagers, Belhaven Best and Strongbow cider are all available on draught. There is a dart board, games machines, TVs and a pool table and bookies slips are also conveniently provided. There is a small and not particularly appealing beer garden at the back. This is an unusual pub, and interesting if you’re military minded, but clearly not to everyone’s taste.
