Bucking Fastard left this review about The Rotunda Bar & Restaurant

Canalside in the ground floor of the building housing The Grauniad, the large windows give decent views of the Regents Canal and Battlebridge Basin, but large pillars outside do block some vistas. However there is lots of outside seating, with some good looking benches. The interior is quite minimalistic with high tables, metal chairs, four lower level sets of tables and chairs and an upright piano with a large area for vertical drinking.Carrying around the curved space you come to the restaurant section. However there are bar snacks at £4.50 per throw if you dont want a full meal.
The barmen are dressed up like cocktail waiters, and there seemed an air of disappointment when I asked about their choice of beer, which proved limited to mainstream kegs ,including Theakstons Bitter.I decided on keg Blue Moon, correctly served with a slice of orange, which was at least refreshing for £3 per half. The bottled beer may have been a better option, featuring several London based micros, but the barman stayed mute on this point and I only discovered this alternative while pouring over the drinks menu.A floor manager did ask me if I wanted another drink before finishing what I had already shelled out for,not good practice in my book.
No sign of any journos ,no doubt still filing copy on my afternoon visit but this just isn't my cup of tea, despite it's decent location.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Rotunda Bar & Restaurant

First the good points - nice location beside the Battlebridge Basin on the Regent's Canal, and there are many worse things than having a drink sitting in a deckchair on the water's edge watching the sunset over London. However, the beer 'choice' in this modern bar/restaurant is pretty poor; and if keg Bombardier at £3.80 is the best bet you know you are in the wrong place... Also notable for the slow and unfriendly service if you don't look you are theren to eat.

New developement on the site of the, now demolished, Waterside Inn. Incorporates a concert hall, conference and events centre. But enough of the PR. The bar is called The Retunda, it is right up against Battlebridge Basin. Very stylish inside with wide windows to view the canal. No real ale. Has disabled toilets. Only down side I can see, is that it is right next to the canal and there are no railings, so, as you can sit outside, it could be dangerous. The patio area is open to all who use the building, so children will have to be watched carefully. Price of a Guinness, £3.30. Update, has Bombadier but not on hand pump. The patio area is no smoking.
