Real Ale Ray left this review about The Crown

A well kept pub consisting of three rooms, a dining area on the left, a central main lounge and bar and a small pool room over on the right. On entering the pub, a sign on the door read 'walkers take off muddy boots when entering the pub'. The main lounge of the pub was traditional and had a lit wood burning stove at the front end of the room with a couple of tables and chairs. The rear section of the lounge had some upholstered bench seating and a few tables. The area around and in front of the bar was bare and it seemed the bar stools had been deliberately removed, so as not to encourage drinkers sitting at the bar.
Four handpumps on the bar, three central and one at the side of the counter. Their ales on the day were from Goose Eye, Nick Hambleton, Small World and Tetley. We went for the Small World Brewery bitter and the Goose Eye.
The young barmaid who served us was friendly and chatty, where as the landlady was quite the opposite and was very stand offish. Also, the music playing on this Saturday afternoon visit was some awful whining stuff, in the Ed Sheeran category.

The Crown Inn is a decent looking stone built pub.
Once inside there is a long oblong shaped room which runs to the rear, the bar is on the right side, the room is bare boarded, there is bench seating to the rear and normal tables and chairs to the front, there is also a small dining room to the front left, the seating here is normal tables and chairs.
There is a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Roosters Wild Mule which went down well, the other beers were Rooster Yankee,Tetley Cask and One from Goose Eye which ended in Hop.
Background music was playing.
This is a decent enough pub to have a few drinks in.
