Will Larter left this review about The Bailie

Formerly the Butchers Arms, this pub changed hands and reopened with an Irish-looking pub sign, though the only thing Irish once inside was the barmaid's accent. And as far as I could see I was the only customer drinking Guinness. No real ale, of course (it didn't have real ale when it was a Greene King pub either). Formerly a multi-room pub (one entrance now disused), there is now just one large space with a centrally situated bar. Whereas other pubs in the area had a choice of football matches on TV, this one had horse racing, though I didn't notice anyone watching with any degree of excitement. There's a small back yard for smokers.
