Quinno _ left this review about RISC Bar

"Dear friends,

Over the past months, we have been heartened to hear from so many of you regarding the future of the Global Café and we want to thank you for your ongoing loyalty and support. The challenges presented by Covid have made it particularly difficult for the Café to operate as it had pre-pandemic. Some of it simply comes down to the ways that alcohol licensing restrictions have curtailed our options. After turning over the various possibilities we have reluctantly concluded that we will not be able to reopen the Global Café until 2022 at the earliest. When we do, it will be managed by us here at RISC.

We see this as an opportunity to bounce back and make some positive changes, and we're very much looking forward to bringing you an updated Global Café in the months to come."

July 2016
A right-on bar for the socially-aware of Reading. There's a good selection of bottled beers from the UK and around the world, prices a little on the steeper side. Food is available and Tutu's Ethiopian buffet on Thursday is a real winner, very tasty indeed. Crusty dub DJ's are on over the weekend evenings. It's a good shout for something unusual I think. The catacomb toilets reek of damp though. They also have hireable function rooms upstairs.
