Will Larter left this review about The Pound

I was staying at the campsite a few steps along the road from this pub - the proximity of the pub may have influenced my choice of campsite. (It's called the Broadmeadow Holistic Centre, but don't let that put you off.) The Pound is called the Pound Inn on the website and Facebook page, but just the Pound on the inn sign. It's a food-led roadside pub, quite an eye-catcher as you whizz by on the busy A49 with its off-white painted walls and thatched roof.

On the evening before the old Queen's funeral it was quite busy here, with several groups of people eating. There are five hand pumps on the bar, with four beers on. I swerved the two from Wye Valley and went for a half of each of Red Dawn from Ludlow and Noble Kingdom, a pale from Noble Craft, a new microbrewery in Market Drayton. Both were in good condition (both NBSS 3) so I had another round before retiring to my tent. In the hour and a half that I was in the pub not one other person had a real ale. I hope they have busier times.
