Steve C left this review about The Wheatsheaf

Through the entrance of the Wheatsheaf to the right is the ‘Snug’ which is a small seating area with banquettes and a fireplace. Directly to the left is a games room with a pool table and dartboard. The main bar area at the rear has a carpeted seating area to the right and tiled area around the bar counter that runs up the left wall. Televisions are found throughout, and the pub was starting to fill up with locals who were in to watch City play in the Champions League via BT Sport. Background music played until right before kick-off. Some of the customers were very excitable, some because they were young and others because they were very pissed. Standard keg is available and two of the three hand pumps were in operation drawing Wily Fox Brewery’s Craft Fox and Theakston’s Old Peculiar. This is a lively pub with friendly staff that’s worth a look if passing.

This is now called The Wheatsheaf. A 3 roomed Victorian pub. The room to the left on entering houses a pool table and there is a snug to the right. The main room is traditional and there are 3 handpumps on the bar. Today's selection was Titanic Plum Porter and Pedigree (Trooper was on the other pump but the clip was reversed). Its a nice enough pub.

ROB Camra left this review about Old Isaacs

Three roomed pub with a smart room to the left of the entrance with a dartboard. A pool room to the right and the main room and bar straight ahead. There are a couple of good looking fireplaces that could be used as a feature, but don't look to be in use. There are lots of TV screens and there are also lots of slogans on the walls. There are 5 handpumps on the bar but 4 of them were turned round on my Friday late afternoon visit. I was told that there was beer in the cellar, but it hadn't had time to settle. What poor management, no beer on a Friday night!! This left me with a choice of Courage Directors or fizz. The Directors was a decent pint though at £2.40. This pub has been in the Good Beer Guide in the past. With better beer management ther's a chance it could be again.
