Brainy Pool left this review about Nostalgia

All below reviews are sadly now redundant, it’s a cocktail bar with no real ale.

Decent place. I think nine hand pumps, two of which were off. I had Fernandes Rasputin @ 7.4% ABV while watching Wimbledon. Bar in the middle, pool room to rear. Would return.

Aqualung . left this review about Ale Emporium

This is an odd place, it's set in the heart of the University area of Preston and doesn't seem to be an original pub but some sort of building that has had a bar and some furniture placed in it. Having said that it's more than comfortable enough with a mix of stools, tables, chairs and sofas. As noted below it's a single room with the bar in front as you enter. Behind the bar I could hear the unmistakeable sounds of a Pool Table.
The bar has 10 hand pumps And I managed to note two from Rat, Dukeries, Bowland, Lancaster, B&T, Castles and Dancing Duck. I went for the Dukeries Lime Tree Porter (£2.90) and Rat Black Death (£3.20) which were both excellent. This is my sort of pub really with a large range of interesting beers from assorted microbreweries and no dull national brands wasting space.
I would happily return here.

Al Bundy left this review about Ale Emporium

A single roomed pub serving a wide selection of cask ales. A bit dark inside but hey, with a decent selection on beers so what?

Geoff Ollerton left this review about Ale Emporium

There was apprehension in the air when the old Bitter Suite closed at the beginning of the year but we needn't have feared. The A&E as it is already affectionately nicknamed is more than adequate, in fact it's a real ale drinkers dream! There are at least eight different offerings of really good ale on the bar at all times, with lagers and ciders too. Licencees Peter and Pat together with very friendly staff have made the Ale Emporium THE place to visit when in Preston, but be warned, once inside you will not want to leave.
Opening is 12 noon until late and on Saturday lunchtimes there is a football menu of various pies / burgers etc to enjoy pre match.
Give the A & E a look you won't be sorry.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Ale Emporium

The Ale Emporium has been in the hands of new licencees for 19 days now and they have counted 48 pump clips worth of sales. We found this pub to be very friendly and welcoming and a difficult place to leave. This a large one room pub with the bar facing you as you enter. There was a choice of 8 handpulled ales, our favouites on the day were Rat Brewery Rat In Me Kitchen, Pictish Admiral, Harvest Sun Alloa, Clarks Traditional and Wharfedale Try This. They have also installed a new kitchen, so looking forward to some home cooked food on our next visit. There is a function upstairs and my other comment is that the pub is spotlessly clean. This pub was formally known as the Bitter Suite, now opens at 12 and stays open till closing.
