Quinno _ left this review about The Coach & Horses Inn

Looked like a quintessential Oxford country pub set in lovely grounds and entering through the very nice patio garden (spotted Aunt Sally) I was expecting great things. However on entering it’s fairly clear that the place – whilst having a bit of character – hasn’t had any sprucing-up since the mid-80’s. We got to the bar and could hear noises from the kitchen. After a bit of loud talking and a bit of coughing, out came a barmaid I can only describe as zombie-like, one of the least engaging and charismatic creatures I’ve ever clapped eyes on behind a bar. Just two ales, Doom Bar and a pretty decent Loose Cannon Abingdon Bridge. Incredibly quiet, nobody else was there on a Saturday afternoon despite the pubs we did either side of this one being pretty full. Feels like a place that’s well and truly coasting.
