Well described below, this is a modern style bar with a few ales on. Beer is a bit more mainstream compared to some of the other new bars in Alty - Wainwrights, Cheshire Cat on cask. As a guitarist was playing and the place was rammed on a Saturday evening I didn’t stick around, but it seemed like a happy place.

Cheshire Tap is a thin bar with seating at the front and a long bar counter along the left hand wall that faces some seating that runs up the right wall. The is a little more seating at the rear including a very long high wooden table. During a recent Wednesday evening visit the television was off, this place is too trendy for football, but there was some background music playing.
External seating runs down the right hand side of the pub and there is more seating in a nice space at the rear in Kings Court, which I think is an area shared by a few businesses. The service was friendly and the barman gave me directions to a very nice burrito bar around the corner. Premium and craft keg is available, half a 4% Beavertown Neck Oil was £3.25. I counted five handpumps, two of which were unused leaving Wainwright, Weetwood’s Cheshire Cat and Twisted Wheel’s Speed-Wobble as the cask ale options. This is certainly more of a bar than a pub, but I liked it and would return.

Craft and real ale bar, with a black but tidy frontage and a rear patio. Modern decor: with plank wood, brick, wood panel, plaster, metal, ducting and so on. Fairy lights and such like, too, with mixed art. The clientele was younger based, but I didn't feel uncomfortable and the service was friendly. TV wasn't on and the music was at a decent level. Not the cheapest place. Beer: Craft and continental beer with three real ales at my visit - I had the Robinson's Dizzy Blonde and the Tiny Rebel Fugg Life and both were fine. I enjoyed it here.

A long boarded room with a very slight return at the far end. Lots of exposed brickwork with the plaster roughly hacked off retaining the ceiling cornices and a bit of jagged plaster below. A fair few rustic style tables and striped upholstered benches built across the side bay windows facing the side passage known as "King's Court". There are exposed services at ceiling level and also uncovered steel rsjs which would be a problem to me if assessing the fire strategy of the building in my field of work.
Towards the front, on the same side as the bar, is a square box of pigeon holes, each containing an apple. No further comment.
Four handpumps, the day had Robinson's Dizzy Blonde, Poynton Brewery Co Idaho (£3.80) plus their Vulcan and Squawk Brewery Co Pale Ale. Food menus on the tables only offered a selection of "Light Bites" but this may have been related to the time of day, I noticed a board listing Sunday roasts.
There is outdoor seating around the back in King's Court itself with rather upmarket looking furniture. Another decent new venture at this end of town, there is a very good crawl possible now in the area with The Craftsman, Tavern on the Green, Costello's, Pi, Jack in the Box and the Belgian bars close by.
