I thought I'd pop in here on the way to the Cask and Craft and couldn't believe the size of the place. The interior had some interesting features such as a large stained glass window, a decorative panelled ceiling plus large brass hanging ceiling lights and a good sized central bar with carved bar front and a decent display of floor tiles around the bar area. Unbeknown to me that this was a Sizzling pub outlet, as the majority of the customers were all drinking away on this fine Friday evening visit. Two ales on handpump Doom Bar and Bombardier.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Sutton Park

Landmark corner pub on a busy crossroads, with a large, partly opened-out and refurbished interior that is much less interesting than one might hope. With no obvious Sizzling pubco branding, it offers a similar menu and customers seemed to be about 50:50 eating or watching the football on various screens around the bar area. With two of the three handpumps in use, I risked the end-of-season Jolly Holly from St Austell (£3.05, and still in reasonable shape) in preference to Doom Bar.

Being a Sizzling pub my expectations were low, but I was pleasantly surprised by the cheerful and helpful young staff, the local feel and the pub itself.  Not at all spoilt, it was welcoming, friendly and restful.  OK, the food was the usual slop, but that was the only real bad point.  The bar is well described below, a large open plan L-shaped affair with gaming machines, a cash machine and apparently a pool table, though we didn’t actually see it.  There is a car park at the back, though you have to make sure you put your registration number into their machine so you don’t get a bill.  Ales on were Doombar, Brakspear Bitter and Wainwright Gold, all in fair condition.  Not at all bad and a good place to have a few relaxing if unexciting drinks.

Large Sizzling pub on the corner which is geared towards food. 3 ales on though - Bombardier, Doom Bar and wainwright's. I had the latter and it was fine. OK for one.

Very large pub stands on very busy Junction (main route bewteen Sutton and west Bromwich). Sizzing Co. owned and it is more food pub than drinking pub. L shaped room with pool at the back of the room. Chesterfield style sofa around in the room. I had half of 6X which is okay. Didnt stay long as the smell of burnt steak was about to overcome me! Not far from JDW's Bishop Vessey, is better bet for drinks.

A large detached brick build, with timber framed gables, with a little patio area and coloured window galss.

The interior is open plan, with a small pool and bar area, but as the pub is a Sizzle Inn, it is decked out mainly for food. The decor is the usual different coloured walls; red, white, brown, yellow etc, with a couple of nice little tiled fireplaces to give a little something at least. There were lots of Sky TVs, silent and drowned out by quite loud charty music, service was functional, the clientele mixed between diners of all ages and kids on the pool table.

Beer; tap stuff, with a fine M&B MILD, with Brew XI and Spekky Hen on handpull.

I am not a big fan of Sizzles, though there are worse. I wouldn't bother again, but generally i am in the minority as the beer and food is cheap and that is what most people care about.
