Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Button Factory

Trendy sort of place with a mostly younger clientele, featuring a bar along the frontage (with such low lighting you almost need a torch) and a very slightly lighter dining area further back. For the better weather, a first-floor terrace can also be found at the front, with a more conventional patio beer garden off to one side. Sadly, the two handpumps are currently out of use, leaving some middling keg beers such as the pair from Battersea: the Session Pale (£5.40) and an Unfiltered Lager.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Button Factory

A large urban style bar, which was quite busy on our early Saturday eve visit. The customer base was mid 20's, who were all dressed up to the 9's. The service was very good on entry, in spite of the amount of cocktails being knocked up. There were 8 keg options repeated across two industrial steel pipes, plus a choice from two hand pumps. We went for the Purity Mad Goose at £4 a pint and I have to say the beer was in great shape.
We sat at a very large table in the main front bar, where a very trendy couple in their late 50's joined us, who were friendly and chatty. I liked this venue as it was vibrant and the in house music was also to my liking, alternative rather than mainstream.

24/09/2016 - revisit as the place has been revamped as the Button Factory. It seems most people now congregate on the upper level. Plenty of sofas and the like. Sadly the beer quality now seems to be appalling!

25/06/2012 - Vertu - Modern bar, comfortable enough, set out for weekend liveliness, lots of brick & part of the Jewellery Quarter scene no doubt.

One real ale - Purity, which was actually good & therefore an extra mark from me for the effort in a trendy situation.

A trendy looking bar and while its ok I wasn't overly fond of the place. Open plan with bare brick walls. 2 handpumps today were dispensing Purity Ubu and Sadlers JPA. Cheaper than the last place I was in so that was a bit of a bonus.

Soup Dragon left this review about Vertu Bar

A plain brick, low-level, bar, eatery and live-music venue housed in a former Victorian factory building with rounded sash windows.

The interior is an L-shaped room around the serving bar - with the bar area at one end and the more dining area to the right as you walk in. I didn't eat so can't comment on the food. The decor is exposed brick with white painted wood panel and an odd red wall. There is a wood floor and a white plank ceiling. A few strange vases and mirrors decorate and there are comfy Ikea seats with the odd Queen Anne chair thrown in. There is a DJ area and flashing lights, as you may expect in a bar of this nature. There was a TV, which was silent with subtitles showing the news and the background music was easy listening at a decent level. Service was functional, likely as it was very busy with a younger mixed crowd of 'beautiful people' (a phrase they use themselves).

Beer; usual tap stuff, with Peroni and an OK Purity UBU on handpull.

It seems popular enough with the audience they seek to attract, so you can't knock it. Clearly, as i am in my 40s, i felt old here!
