E TA left this review about Dove Inn
A large village pub which has undergone substantial internal renovation recently, conjoining the downstairs rooms to form single cavernous room which still smells of fresh woodwork. They've left an original brick fireplace and added a Scandinavian woodburner in the coldest end. The outside areas are framed by a high brick wall and some self catering holiday cottages, enclosing a pleasant garden and a car park. They offer restaurant food at restaurant prices, and the B&B breakfast stuff is left in the bar during the evening. The theme is very wooden, literally and metaphorically, again giving it a Scandinavian feel but with an echo, so it's not as cosy as it could be - wooden floors, wooden furniture and even a carved wooden dove on the bar. The central bar has 4 handpumps dispensing TT Landlord and Cornish Best. Also available were Moretti, Peroni and Thatcher's Gold. There were treats for dogs on the bar, watched over by the pub dog, a stand-offish collie cross. The barmaid was helpful, though, like the collie, a bit aloof. Probably a good place to stay the night, but it didn't have a great pub feel.
