As below, much smaller than it looks from outside. Areas to the left and right, both done out in a quite upmarket way. The right is a restaurant with no dogs allowed, the left is a stylish bar area with piano. All very comfortable, reminds me of a refurbed London pub. Staff were welcoming, atmosphere pleasant, only Trooper available though.

A large Robinsons pub from the outside but it is surprisingly small inside. A thin interior with a 'reserved' section to your right on entering. The drinking area inside pretty sparse and banquette seating takes up the space opposite the bar. 4 handpulls all dispensing Robinsons beers. Not a great place but just about acceptable.

This is a detached corner hotel (yes, accommodation), pub and eatery. There is a rear patio area (part covered). The main building is in Georgian style, being in cream with coffee colour around the sympathetic modern windows. The nice features include a stucco lower front, several string courses and an elaborate balustrade entrance (with stained glass). The interior is now open plan with a dart and pool area to one side, in a clay, cream and wood panel, with tile floor. The other area is part partioned, with an iron fireplace at one end. It is in cream in general, with a patterend carpet. Copious TVs cover the walls with sport and silent news on at my visit. There were lots of horse pictures and models, with some lakes pictures too. There was no music. The service was OK and there was one other bloke in. Beer; usual tap stuff with Cumbrian Ale and a slightly warm Hartley's XB on handpull. I am sure that 'real ale bores' are not the kind of clientele this place is really looking for and they are clearly succeeding.

The Kings Arms is a large imposing pub that is at the top end of king street.
Once inside we went in a largish room that was carpeted and very comfortable.
When we went in this pub it was a Hartleys tied house and there were two real ales on here we had a drink of Hartleys bitter and this was a nice drink the other beer was Hartleys XB.
