This pub is a long way from Marple Bridge in open country in the small hamlet of Mill Brow, and is well known for it's excellent cooking ,it's gatro but in a good way.Prices match the quality. The interior has different rooms ,tables mostly laid for dining and booking is strongly recommended. However a side snug is available as a drinking area and it also has a small TV for terrestrial sport, and I like the way that drinkers are not excuded, quite a few locals were supping.
It's a Robinsons tied house with Unicorn,Dizzy Blonde and Robocop (decent) on my trip.Unless you like walking, take a cab here but its well worth a visit, mainly for the food.Do not get this pub confused with another Hare & Hounds in Dooley Lane ,Marple about 4 miles away !

On our initial visit recently, found the staff to be very pleasant and welcoming. The food was excellent especially the cheese and onion pie on dauphinoise potatoes, and check out "soup of the day, served in a hollowed out, freshly baked, crusty cob"!

The Hare and Hounds is a Robinsons tied house that looks very nice from the outside, this pub is well away from Marple Bridge and is in the small hamlet called Millbrow.
I had a drink of Robinsons bitter and this was anice drink in a nice pub.

Pub visited 18 April 1989.
