very eclectic clientele in here, certainly an interesting range of characters. And the barman and his excellent choices of music made for a fine Saturday night atmosphere in here. Five Robbies ales (including Old Tom) and a cider. Don’t miss this one, it’s one of the best in town.

Pleasant, if dark, pub. Another Robinsons pub in the town and this one had 5 handpulls of which 4 where used. Mainly open plan, the snug area to the left housed a piano. Beer garden to the rear which I didn't bother with. Trooper Something Of The Dead was my beer choice though there were other Robbies beers on. Nice enough and worth a visit.

My final pub on a Thursday evening crawl of Ulverston was the Hope & Anchor, tucked away behind the Farmers Arms. It was the potential for real cider that drew me here and I wasn't disappointed.

It's a Robinson's pub serving 4 of their ales - Dizzy Blonde, Trooper, Cascade IPA & Cwrw'r ddraig aur. The aforementioned cider was Old Rosie.

I sat in the front bar, which has a little character. Service was friendly, with no problem ordering at the bar. The road at the front had been closed to allow extra tables outside.

Despite not originally planning to visit here, it was one of the better Ulverston pubs, in my opinion.

This is a terraced pub with a rear patio area. It is plain, but tidy, being in Georgian style and having white render with black paintwork around the sash windows. The interior is somewhat irregular in shape and layout as the old rooms have been opened out - with the serving bar right at the back. The place is in red and white, with a white and beam ceiling and a stone floor. There are a couple of fireplaces and some old wood perimeter seating. There is a dart board and a couple of TVs. A few shippy things, brasses and pictures are on the walls, but sparsely placed. The service was fine and the place populated by a few locals and a couple of families. Beer; usual tap stuff with Robinson's Dizzy Blonde and Double Hop, as well as a decent Hartley's XB. A decent little pub and one i would return to - the seem to have live music on too at times.

The Hope and Anchor is a smallish pub that is in the middle of Ulverston.
Once inside the pub had a cosy feel to it ,there were low beamed ceilings and comfortable seating, when we went in this pub it was a Hartleys tied house and there were two real ales on here i had a drink of Hartleys bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Hartleys XB.
This was quite a nice pub to have a few drinks in.
