Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Bungalows & Bears

An absolute cavern, as you might expect from a converted fire station, not helped by me being the solitary customer on a Monday lunchtime... Anyway, the U-shaped bar counter is quite impressive in its own way, and the sound system was actually very good given the space it had to fill without echoing, etc. Disappointingly, if perhaps unsurprisingly, just Abbeydale's Moonshine (£4.00) available from the bank of handpumps.

One large room with an eclectic mix of seating, including sofas. There's a large sign that says "To The Woods" directing you to the toilets which is amusing. Jazzfunk playing on the sound system at a sensible volume which is always OK with me. Surprisingly for this type of bar there are 4 handpumps. Abbeydale Moonshine is a permanent along with 3 changing guests according to the friendly barman. Very civilised on a Thursday night. There was one numpty in the bar, but he was asked to leave very promptly.

My first visit for a couple of years, prompted by having seen the place closed last autumn for a refurb. Hard to tell what has changed - probably freshened up as much as anything, with newer furniture. Four hand pumps on the bar, serving Abbeydale Moonshine, Adnams Ghost Ship, St Austell Proper Job and Thornbridge Jaipur at the time of my visit. The usual hard-to-identify music from the alternative/jazz/funk/indie/who-knows end of the spectrum was still playing, although this time there was a loudspeaker the size of a chest of drawers stood next to my sofa, with a stomach-churning bass making it hard for me to enjoy my beer or, perhaps more importantly, to write some notes to enable me to compose a coherent review of the pub.

By the time i got round to do this pub Will had met me and was showing round some of Sheffields finest bars.
Once inside there is one very large room with the bar facing, there were some low leather settees to the front, and normal tables and chairs to the rear, there was some very loud music playing during our visit.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of York Terrier which went down very well, the other beer was from Navigation brewery.
The bar was very busy on our late Saturday afternoon visit, like most bars in this area of town.

A huge barn of a place - it is a former fire station, after all - but the space is somewhat cluttered by pillars, some clad in wood panelling, some just bare I-beams, a motley collection of old sofas and tables, and random objects such as folding screens and old radio sets.

The large centrally placed bar has three hand pumps. On my visit there was Old Rosie cider, Yorkshire Terrier from York Brewery and "build a rocket boys!", the beer created by Elbow in conjunction with Robinsons brewery. Considering its parentage, this was surprisingly good.

There was hard-to-identify music from the alternative/jazz/funk/indie/who-knows end of the spectrum, which was interesting and at a tolerable volume. My visit was mid-afternoon, so I may not have got the full flavour of the place, but I wouldn't mind coming back, probably at the same time of day, judging by what I've seen and heard when passing by later at night on other occasions.

It's not a club although there may be an entrance fee when bands play live. It's music venue with DJs, but also serves pub grub etc.
