Surprisingly large pub which rambles through several rooms, but all done up in a sort of Olde English style but not unpleasantly. The main draw seemed to be the slightly upmarket food, however the large bar at the back offered some good beers and ciders, including a house beer from Yates. There is an older and smaller bar at the front which does not seem to be used, or perhaps only at busy times. Outside at the back is a patio area, with signs to a garden and play area behind which was not visited.

BY far the best pub i visited while on the island , loved the cosy decor and warm welcome from the staff but most of all the food everything is home cooked and to perfection i had fish and chips and i can honestly say the best i have ever tried so good that i went back the next day and had the same again ! i would recomend this pub to anyone who loves there home cooked food , its a great family pub even the childrens food is all freshly made not like most pubs/ restuarants. my son is a fussy eater but everything he tried he loved ... one thing is for sure you need to make a reservation if you want to eat there as its so popular !!!

A detached cottage style pub and eatery in white painted stone that has an entention at the back, shop and a patio area.

The interior is technically open plan, but really has three 'rooms'; all of which what seemed to be bar/dining areas and two bars, though one was closed on my visit. The first room, on entry, has a smaller, second side room. The main room then follows the bar around where it opens up into another larger room, where the open bar was. The decor was white and wood panel, with ceiling beams, stone and brick fireplaces and stone and wood floor. There were lots of old prints and photos and adverts, some in Italian and French, on the walls. Despite the overwhelming feel of it being a foody place, there were the a couple of sofas. The service was fine and the place rammed with holidaymakers. Music was easy stuff and at a decent level

Beer; tap stuff with an untried Black Sheep and a decent Doombar on handpull

A bit too foody and too popular for a misery like me. So most will love it!
