Bucking Fastard left this review about Leigh Arms

The pub overlooks a main road swingbridge crossing the River Weaver, although coastal shipping rarely comes this far inland so you are unlikely to see any swinging,if that is the correct term !Its a large Robinsons pub that has been extended to one side with a vaulted ceiling barn tacked on.The front door opens onto a quiet lounge to the left,a tap room with high tables opposite. There is a mix of seating, including Chesterfields in the small barn area and a restaurant at the rear.
It has the feel of a chain pub and the tables had been well used and were a bit sticky .Although there were a lot of people milling behind the bar ,service was slow although on a fine day the beer garden overlooking the river was busy and food ordering was taking it's toll on bar efficiency. There are three handpumps for ale, serving Citra Pale,Unicorn and Trooper with a fourth for Old Rosie Cider. The food seemed standard pub grub and is generally served until 8.30pm.
The ale selection was mundane and I wouldn't base myself for a heavy session. However with live music on Thursdays this is not just another foody pub and the location is decent.
