Well, I turned down the town's Good Beer Guide Tick - The Castle - for this.

And on a sunny June day - it made perfect sense. The location is spot on and the ambiance makes you reminisce of happier times, when we could do this abroad.

The service was a little slow - but their app actually sorted things out - rather than waiting for an order to be taken verbally, we punched in our details and two minutes later, we were rewarded with our Bier Morettis.

A pleasant experience.

I would give this place 10 just for the location, unfortunately the customer service is a big let down! The only licensed bar on the beach - great! Except if you want Tap Water, not only is it not free, but you just don't get any. Then asked for cheese on a pasta dish and not given you are accused a liar and something wrong with you. Please owner, learn some manners. Such a shame!

Unfortunately I did not have the same experience as Colin. The poor quality of the food was only matched by the appalling service received. The chicken was colder than our drinks, evidently straight out of the freezer, served with a stale baguette. Not only were we denied bluntly when we asked for it to be warmed. When I requested the manager for a refund, he responded by shouting aggressively, making it clear that we were not going to receive any refund as the menu did not specifically stated that it had to be warm. Ludicrous!
Avoid at all costs!

Friendly and relaxed modern bar overlooking the beach.
Lots of outdoor seating and live music some nights.
Friendly service, well kept lagers from around the world and ciders including Mangers on drought. Sizeable menu including breakfasts (£5.75), seafood and mixed grills (£14.95). Not the cheapest place in town to drink and eat, but I guess you have to pay for the view
