Alan Winfield left this review about Tappers Harker

The Tappers Harker was built by Banks's brewery in the 80s and it is just off the town centre and close to a level crossing. This pub was named after the nearby waggon works where they used to tap the wheels to hear if they were cracked or not.
Once inside this pub has got one large L shaped room there used to be two seperate rooms and you can still tell where the bar was as there is a pool table and dart board in this area and the seating is leater type bench seating with small stools, the other part of the pub is smart with upholstered bench seating in bays and there is also a raised area at the front of the pub.
There were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Pedigree and this was very nice the other beers were Banks's bitter and Hobgoblin.
The pub does food all day but this still seems like a proper pub with no tables laid out for food.
I found this to be a very comfy pub with areas to suit most peoples taste and the beer was very well kept.
