Will Larter left this review about The Stagger Inn

A village inn, formerly the Farmers Arms and a Hartleys pub, has been reinvented as a sort of stripped back gastro-pub, with bare stone walls, inside and out, and rustic implements tastefully arrayed on the walls. My Monday lunchtime visit coincided with some ghastly crooner on the sound system. To be fair, there were four real ales on the bar, and not every seat was dedicated to diners. There were three Cumbrian Legendary Ales on, and Dent Aviator. I suppose there are some people who think this sort of thing is pretty high class and tasteful. Sorry, but I'm not one of them. The beer was in good condition, which was just as well because I swigged it and left as soon as I could.
