Soup Dragon left this review about Rising Sun Inn

I beleive known locally as 'The Middle', this is a detached pub with a near completed extension at the side. The main building is in white with black endstones and paintwork around the doors and windows. I has the charm of looking like a row of former cottages, although now looking a little tired, with more letters fallen from its sign than on it; it isn't called 'The Rigs'. The interior has a couple of rooms, which appear to be newly partitioned (decorating still going on, well, it was late last year). The new room has two levels, wood floor and a pool table, with a few pictures. The main room is L-haped and has yellow walls, white ceiling and red patterned carpet, as well as red perimeter seats and general table/chairs. Again, a few old photos adorn the walls. There is a TV, which had motor sport on and there was no music. The service was fine and the place had a few locals in. Beer; usual tap stuff with Theakston's MILD and on handpull there was a decent Lancaster Amber, as well as an untried Lancaster Blonde. This pub was obviously going through alterations, but retained a local feel and had a couple of real ales (as well as a keg MILD) - fine to pop into for one.
