Will Larter left this review about The Friendly

A small multiroomed pub in a terrace on the main street, it was quiet at the time of my early evening visit, and not much different the next evening. But it is nothing if not *Friendly*, and I got good advice from both the bar person and the other customer about which buses to catch to Keighley or Hebden Bridge. The beer was good, too - one of my favourites: Settle Mainline Bitter, though on the second occasion it had deteriorated slightly. Which was inevitable if the pub had stayed quiet. (There was another beer on too, though I forgot to note it.) Writing this review up more than six months after my visit, I was a bit worried that business over the winter might have been such that they had stopped doing real ale, but on checking their Facebook page, I see a photo dated 10 March with the same beer that I had last August (no, obviously not the same barrel!), plus others from Goose Eye and Wishbone. Maybe I'll return one day.
