Old Boots left this review about The Slug & Lettuce

An outlet of the famous chain, this one is very much split level with a drinking / eating area at ground level and a further bar and the counter up a flight of steep stairs. There are a couple of T Bars and a solitary handpump with a Greene King IPA pump clip which was reversed, so I had a very tasteless lager. Upstairs has some impractical tall tables and stools while downstairs is more friendly with normal tables and chairs. There is an outdoor seating area at the front and a sign pointing to a garden at the back, the front being very popular with its view of valley gardens. There is some low level piped music and of course the place is very much food oriented.

What a pleasant surprise, a Slug & Lettuce with hand pulled Black Sheep & Bombardier and the vile John Smiths smooth hardly visible.
