The Hawthorne Has an L-shaped bar that supports a standard keg range alongside San Miguel. There are also three handpumps there were drawing Timothy Taylor’s Boltmaker and Big Smoke Brewing Company’s Hairy Bikers IPA. Food is available, the cheeseburger is priced at £4.50, but this doesn’t include chips that are an additional £2.
To the right of the bar is a square open plan seating area and along the front windows are high tables with seating. To the left of the bar are two dartboards and a pool table. Televisions are located throughout for airing live sport, but these were showing The Chase during my visit. To be fair the friendly locals were getting involved with the questions. There is a quiz every Tuesday and live music is held here on Saturday evenings. Upstairs is a function room that is available for hire.
I found the service to be very friendly and the newly refurbished surroundings to be comfortable. I must say that this pub was a pleasant surprise and I would definitely pop back in for a pint if I’m passing again.

Basically a 2 roomed pub with a U-shaped interior making it seem like two rooms. The servery is L-shaped and there is a pool table on the left side. The pub has been modernised inside. 3 unused handpumps on the bar. There is a function room to the rear. Its much brighter than its neighbour The Wire.

A large two-roomer just down from the nearby Wire, this is another pub popular on Warrington Wolves' matchdays. Pretty basic inside with a horseshoe-shaped bar serving both rooms (both have their own entrances from the street), with a pool table and dartboards commandeering most of left-hand side with the right more given to contemplative drinking, with upholstered banquettes all 'round and plenty of tables and stools, although a small DJ booth against a wall means it might be one to avoid on Friday and Saturday nights. Predictably, no real ale and a pint of Guinness seemed almost overpriced for the area at £3.00 a pint.
