Marius Van Rijn left this review about The Russian Tavern at The Port Royal Hotel

We saw this place recommended on this site while we were sailing west scotland and looking for a good meal and beer. We certainly found it here and it is very very different to most bars and hotels we visited in Scotland. Yes the beer was ver good and from the barrel, yes the seafood was straight from the fishboat, but above all we were treated kindly and had good conversations with many peoples which we found it difficult at other places we visited. This is run by Russians and we think other sailing habours could learn much from them. We had a good time here!

Local Real Ales poured direct from casks on the bar. All-day freshly landed seafood, fine Russian cuisine, Russian beers, wines, chasmpagnski, and vodkas. 4 economic guestrooms. Closed November to Easter.
