Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Noahs Ark

Very basic boozer, given a rather stark refurbishment in both bars (with a servery in-between). Mostly a karaoke venue, but live music is also offered from time to time. Just Abbot (£3.80) from the solitary handpump, but at least this was in good shape.

An interesting example of how to ruin a pub with its decor. The walls are covered in a series of oversized murals of aged pop stars and the woodwork is all painted black, with lots of pvc covered seating. The place manages to feel both gloomy and glaring at the same time. A separated public bar runs across the front, not that there is much difference. Just Abbot on handpump, admittedly in fair condition, but nothing demanded a return visit.

A basic city centre boozer with a small front room decorated with large photos of pop stars from Holly and Presley through the Beatles to Winehouse. The bar counter serves both this room and the larger one behind, with three hand pumps offering Bombardier, Pedigree and Castle Rock Harvest Pale. My half of Bombardier was a little off - probably just not pulled through properly - but I didn't complain as I had really only popped in to use the toilet!

A friendly pub serving a few cask ales from the nationals. Split into 2 rooms both with some dodgy wallpaper. A sign ourside welcoming you to a "Beatles bar" is a bit foreboding but thankfully not a single Beatles song was played on this visit.

Thank you for your review I love the Noah's it is what it is ! a old pub full of every day people some good dome great and some not so great . But I love the realness of it I love that from behind the bar I can talk to all the customers that on a day to day I never know who might pop in for a pint or a chat . It might not be posh but it's clean And loved and your all welcome .
It might not be every ones cup of tea . But it's good to have feed back good and bad .

I had to make a visit to this pub to see if it had gone downhill since my last visit here in June, after reading the latest review.
The Noahs Ark is situated quite close the bus station and was an Home Ales tied house when i first went in it,with a decent drink of Home bitter on the bar.
Once inside the pub is pretty much the same as it was years ago, there is a small front bar which is fairly narrow, then there is a drinking passage which is straight on through the entrance, this area has got a bench seat, the main room is to the left, this has got two decent sized seating bays which are at right angles,so you can not see from one to the other.
The pub has had real ales on the bar for a few years now,on my recent visit there were three pumps on the bar with one having its clip turned round, this left Bass and Hobgoblin on the bar,i had a drink of Bass which went down very well.
The pub does attract some Irish people and Derbys working class, giving it a good lively atmosphere in the evening.
I have been in this pub on many occasions because it is better than the two other pubs that are close to the bus station.

My experience was certainly not as wonderful as the one post wonders (or 2) would have you believe. I called in after the recent Derby beer festival and the atmosphere was so awful that I decided not to have a drink. My notes are actually much worse than that, but I'll be polite. It's a poor pub on what is the worst row of pubs in Derby.

My favorite pub in Derby for a great pint and friendly conversation. The staff and clientele always make me feel welcome and at ease whenever I stop in.
