Steve C left this review about The Red Cow

This high street shop conversion is larger inside than the frontage would suggest as it stretches a fare way back allowing room for a couple of pool tables and a stage which had a tatty old dartboard set up on it. There is also a projector screen on the back wall which is used in conjunction with the small plasma screen at the front of the pub to show Sky Sports. There is an internet jukebox which was playing some inoffensive pop music that I didn’t mind listening to whilst supping my pint at a table near the entrance whilst the smell of fried chicken wafted into the pub from the KFC a few doors down.

There is no real ale here and the Guinness that I was served by the very friendly barman was not up to scratch and I had to force it down. It actually tasted like I imagine the filthy water in the tank that the poor fish have to swim around in all day tasting. The clientele were all OAPs which wasn’t surprising as I did visit at midday on a recent Thursday. They were all friendly enough though and the barman was going out of his way to give them all table service, which I thought was a good gesture.

If the Guinness was good I would have no problem in returning here, but unfortunately it wasn’t so I won’t be rushing back.
