We took a bus from the centre of town to get here as it is a bit of a hike. We got off at Waitrose and followed directions from the review below. The entrance to the pub is on the right hand side of the building, car park side. Once through the door, you enter a small lobby, which had the pubs first set of handpumps displayed on the wall. The pub consists of a front or rear lounge, which are both equally as comfortable. The bar served both rooms and either side had a selection of handpumps.
We went into the front lounge were you can find all their ales on display. The young barmaid on our visit was friendly and chatty and helpful when choosing a beer. There were 8 ales and 1 cider on our visit, so we went for the Nobbys Guilsborough Gold, Vale Brewery Gravitas and Phipps IPA, all were in top condition. The end of the bar had a comprehensive display of used pump clips and a what's coming on list. The manager is a big rugby fan, hence the numerous framed rugby shirts displayed around the walls.
