peter ashworth left this review about The Thomas Henry

The pub re-opened in September 2013 after a £150,000 revamp by the Warrington based Bravo Inns making it a first for them in Cumbria. The pub up till closure was called The Crown but is now named after the locally born White Star owner Thomas Henry Islay.
Although quite compact a decent job has been undertaken with plenty of dark wood on show and a couple of raised areas to the right of the bar. There are also numerous tributes and testimonials to Thomas Henry on the walls plus prints of historic Maryport and the White Star Line.
No real ale here on my Wednesday lunchtime visit but sky sports news was on the TV and the beer inexpensive.
