Alan Winfield left this review about Hare and Hounds Inn

The Hare and Hounds is a very old stone built pub that is situated high up on Werneth Low,there are great views to be had from here looking over South Manchester and the Cheshire Plain.
Once inside this pub was more like a restaurant than a pub but as a drinker i was able to get a drink without dining, the pub was quite smart with comfortable seating but i felt a bit out of place having a drink in here.
The pub was a Whitbread tied house when i visited it and there was one real ale on the bar this was Boddingtons bitter which was ok.
It is a long walk up a very steep hill to get to this pub,the views are well worth the walk but the pub probably not.
