I didn’t go into the right hand side of the Borough Arms, but looking through the window I noted this large space had a pool table, dartboard and jukebox as well as some seating. I did manage to find myself in the left hand bar area where there is an L-shaped counter on the right wall that supports a standard and premium keg range. Seating runs along the left wall opposite the bar and at the rear is more seating overlooked by the rear wall that has been made into a trophy cabinet. Televisions are located throughout for airing horse racing, in fact this is an equine mad pub. There are horse prints on the walls and one of the locals had his name proudly displayed on the ‘Sunday’s Top Tipster’ board up on the wall. On a shelf by the entrance are piles of fresh betting slips from William Hill located a few doors along. I bet it’s a great laugh in here when all the locals are in!
I found the landlady to be very friendly and the pub is clean and very comfortable. I’d return for another visit if in the area.

Just away from the town centre this is a traditional pub. Its does sell real ale but its not usually an inspired choice. A lot of Marston's stuff on sale.

This is a nice old fashioned boozer next to a busy roundabout on the edge of the town centre. There's a large selection of beers available from the Marstons range but they're nearly all keg or smooth versions. The only real ale was Jennings Dark Mild, which was a treat.
