The Crown doesn't look very inspiring from the outside but inside is a splendid multi-roomed place with some lovely historical features, and with a superb range of beers on, as described in more detail below. The large outdoor drinking area feels more modern but is equally pleasant on a nice day. Well worth looking round the corner behind the tram stop.

Old Boots left this review about Crown Inn

A very woody interior, not particularly old inside just looking that way by design, the outside has more of the old inn in look. Multi roomed in the woody style. Six pulls on the counter however due to plague the beers are served outside from a small wooden extension, while a marquee in the garden houses a few locals. Odd mix of furniture as is normal for these slightly pretentious places. Old photos, books and random rustic tools as decor. The plague procedures are well thought out but the service can be a bit slow and I got served with an horribly scratched glass - it was dated 2012. Signage listed Brewsters Hophead(!), Oakham Citra, Blue Monkey Infinity, Dancing Duck Nice Weather, and Everards Tiger as regulars with three rotating guests, one of which was Acorn Old Moor Porter. Excellent quality beer shame about the other minor shortfalls but the barman was attentive enough for table service to work.

Aqualung . left this review about Crown Inn

I didn't think this looked very promising as I approached it thinking it looked like a suburban barn. It's the exact opposite in fact. I went straight into the tiny narrow bar area on the right and stayed there only discovering before I left that it is a maze of different rooms and areas. It's all been well described below.
Although not all fourteen beers were on there must have been a dozen so I will just mention that the house Ashover Crown Amber & Pale were under three quid while the two I tried Wild Beer Millionaire and Salopian Lemon Dream were £3.50. Both of these were excellent. Other beers included Bass, Nottingham, Everards, Squawk, Whim and Kelham Island.
I thought this was a superb pub and would gladly visit again when I will try and find a seat in the "confessional".

Defiantly in the top 5 pubs in all of Nottingham. there are sevral rooms off from the main large bar and a nice second bar with snug to the back of the pub. The Crown is a project William pub meaning Everards brewery have invested in the pub and allow it to be managed by Brown ales. Because of this several Brown ales and Everards beers are always available (Tiger and sunchaer from everards). There are a total of 14 Ales available that are kept in brilliant condition with beers from all over, on my Thursday evening visit there were Bass, Brewsters, oakham, Nottingham, Titanic and many many others. All beers were in superb condition and the two house beers, Crown amber and crown pale are competitive at £2.70. the other beers were priced between £2.90 and £3.30. This place was full to the brim on my visit and the beers were changing and a rapid pace, there were five different beers pulled through in the three hours in was there so always a great rotation of choice.

An absolute must visit pub with great beer and good price, i can see why this place was so popular mid week, if you lived near by you wouldn't go anywhere else.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Crown Inn

Splendid old multi-room interior, including the tiny 'Confessional' off the public bar at the front, a snug to the other side of the passageway, a 'smoke room' and what is now the main bar in a newer part of the pub to the rear. Up to 14 real ales available, with regulars such as Sunchaser and Tiger from Everard's, Brown Ales The Hustler and Leatherbritches Scoundrel (£2.60), supplemented by a range of guests in different styles. Part of the 'Project William' partnership scheme. Well worth a detour.

Pub SignMan left this review about Crown Inn

The Crown is a wonderful early 19th century pub that, despite some major changes over the years, retains an excellent multiple room interior. The pub is best approached from Middle Street, where the entrance door leads you into a passageway that forms part of the original building – a series of small rooms known as the Shambles. To the left of the entrance is a snug with banquette seating running around three of the walls. To the right there is a small room called the Whisky Bar which has enough space for three tables and a few local photographs on the walls. From here you can access a tiny 8ft by 5 ft snug known as the Confessional which is believed to be the former off-sales section and now has the one table with a hatch to the bar. Moving to the end of the passage, past the servery with its sliding glass screen, you reach the Games Room, which is the last of the original rooms and still has what used to be an external window on the back wall. This room has various sporting images on the walls, a number of trophies on display plus a dartboard and collection of board games.
The pub was extended in 1976, so the remainder of the interior comprises this newer section. From the games room there is a lobby type area which leads outside to the large car park and a pleasant outdoor seating space which has plenty of picnic style benches. There are more trophies in this lobby area and a stuffed fox is mounted over the doorway which leads into what is now the main bar. This is the lightest room in the pub and is partly carpeted, compared to the quarry tile flooring in the older rooms. Various bits of brewerania line the walls as well as a number of CAMRA certificates including the East Midlands Pub of the Year awards mentioned below. The whole pub was very clean and actually smelt very pleasant upon entering. The gents’ toilets, which are decorated with enamel beer adverts and an ancient looking set of scales, were particularly well kept.
The beer selection is vast and there are a number of blackboards to help when ordering, visible from most, if not all, of the various access points to the bar. The line up on my visit comprised Leatherbritches Cad, Bounder and Scoundrel, Elland Curiosity (£3.20), Mr. Grundy’s Golden Dawn, Tring Lord Derby, Everards Tiger and Sunchaser, Bradfield Farmers Blonde, Fullers London Pride, Oakham Inferno, Naked Brewer Palindrome Porter and Nottingham Bullion. In addition to all of this there was a list of seven real ciders and perries.
This pub ticks just about every box and is an essential port of call if you are in Beeston and well worth making the short trip out from Nottingham for. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and will do my best to make a return visit sometime soon.

Thuck Phat left this review about Crown Inn

A fantastically atmospheric and historical pub which has been sympathetically treated by Everards and offers a warm welcome and very wide range of beers. I won't repeat the details accurately listed in the reviews below but it is worth noting that the food menu is a simple and very appealing list of traditional pub nosh including cobs, pork pies and sausage rolls.
Beer: Tiger and Leatherbritches CAD and Bounder were on as regulars with guests on our visit being: Leatherbritches Scoundrel, Mr Grundys The Red Baron, Shepherd Neame Dragon Fire, Ossett By George, Beowulf Gold Work, Everards Sunchaser, Nottingham Cock and Hoop, Milestone Maid Marion, London Pride, Derby Dashingly Dark and the highlight, Blue Monkey 99 Red Baboons. Many of these are local brews and that seems to be a policy with The Crown but they also offer a wide range of styles and strengths. Advertised in forthcoming events are weekly beer festivals to be held every weekend from May to September often featuring beers from a single brewery and all held at the outside bar so there is no interruption to the range offered at the bar. Coming up were offerings from both Marble and Thornbridge for these weekend festivals. Impressive.
An outstanding pub.

Bucking Fastard left this review about Crown Inn

The pubsign contained the strap line "a cask ale emporium" which sounds like a hostage to fortune but is fully backed up by a wonderful selection of 14 real ales.Everards have also lovingly restored a five room interior to this old ,listed building with low ceilings and the whole package is top drawer.
On entering the front door,to the right through narrow swinging wooden doors is a cosy snug known as The Whisky Bar with a very extensive range of single malts. There is a narrow leather bench seat below the window ,three tables and a few stools in a convivial small space. At the end of the room is a tiny confessional snug with its own bar access and room for no more than three.Fabulous.
Walking around the interior there are nooks and crannies, and a slightly larger back lounge with a massive low beam.Apart from the games room, all other rooms have bar access, sometime via a serving hatch.
The ale selection is outstanding .There is always a Blue Monkey and Nottingham Brewery ale available, together with Tiger and two from Leatherbritches.Other handpumps dispence rotating guests and there is care taken to include a wide range of styles and strengths.Cider and Perry is well represented.Signs advertise regular weekend festivals featuring a different brewer each week and the fact that Marble is on their list of forthcoming events speaks volumes about the reputation for excellence here. The barman was very knowledgeable about all aspects of real ale,and the whole operation was superb.
One of the very best pubs I have ever had the pleasure to drink in,I can't sing it's praises high enough.Just get there and enjoy.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Crown Inn

The building dates from the late 1700's and became a pub in the early 1800s. The pub consists of two small rooms and a snug to the front and another room and a large lounge to the rear. Staff are all friendly and welcoming and are very knowledgeable about the cask ales they serve. Also enjoyed the pork pie with English mustard. Ales I tried were Leatherbritches Cad, Bounder and Scoundrel also Magpie Fledgling, Everards Sunchaser, Abbeydale Deception, Oakham Monpessons and Milestone Shine On, all were fab. Look out for the old fone in the lounge. Will defo call again.
