Alan Winfield left this review about The Nurseryman

The Nurseryman is a large pub that is on the very busy A52.
This pub used to be a Kimberley tied house with two seperate rooms and a large garden,as Mark Davey says the pub gets done up quite often first the garden went to make way for a larger carpark then the pub was knocked into one large room.
Once inside the bar faces you and there are slight raised seating areas to the front left and right, the room is now a large L shape but with lots of different drinking areas, the front and right side are for diners only, the rear left where the old bar used to be is now for drinkers.
The pub is carpeted throughout and has mainly normal tables and chairs where people dine, the bar area has a mix of tall and normal tables.
There are 7 pumps on the bar with 3 being unclipped, the front bar had Old Speckled Hen and Abbot on so i walked round to the bar area which had two different beers on,i had a drink of Blue Monkey Armarillo which was a very nice well kept drink the other beer was GK IPA.
I have been in this pub many times over the years and having been past it on a bus i did'nt like the look of it with its new branding but i thought the pub was an improvement on its last guise.

Revisited the Nurseryman with a large family group for meals and drink for my wifes 50th birthday.

The food was enjoyed by all, even my young Grandson ate all on his plate.

On the beer front, things have improved loads, there was the usual GK rubbish on the bar,but there were three beers from Nottingham Brewery,i had lots of pints of Nottingham EPA which went down very well, the other Nottingham beers were Supreme and Dreadnought.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Nurseryman

Large 'Eating Inn', a Greene King-owned chain. Wide number of separate eating / dining areas in various parts of the original building and extensions. Fairly bland - but not altogether displeasing - corporate furniture and decor. Helpful staff. Two banks of four handpumps, offering IPA, Abbot, Abbot Reserve and Titanic Red Ensign (£3.00) as a guest. Overall, not bad if you are in its target market i.e. looking for somewhere to have a family lunch or evening meal.

A huge pub sited on the West bound side of the A52. Car access is from Wollaton road only, the exit dumps you back onto the A52 further West. This place seems to re-invent itself every 2 or 3 years with massive refits. Having once been part of the Hardy Hanson chain, it is now owned by GK and is branded as an Eating Inn pub. I have not been in since it's last refit, but previously the place was OK. Family orientated with lots of dining tables and the usual GK brews on the bar as well as a guest or two. Might be worth calling in on your way west out of the city, but to be fair, Nottingham and Beeston for that matter have far better drinking establishments.
