The name O’Neill’s conjures up visions of cavernous dimly lit Irish themed pubs. However, this O’Neill’s is very small and quite bright and airy. I counted three plasma screens for showing Sky Sports, a Rangers v Celtic replay was airing during my recent Monday evening visit. This was muted in favour of some background music. Live music is advertised for Friday and Saturday nights, but the weekly Monday evening quiz was cancelled because there were only three customers. I learned from the very friendly staff that the quiz is new so has not yet been properly established. The bar supports many standard and premium keg taps, but there is no real ale. Cheap pub grub is available, burger and a pint for £8.
