The Sunday roast at the Farmers Inn is to die for, the beef melts in the mouth and the gravy is the best I've had since I moved up here a year ago, well priced and worth the money, lovely pub, nice and friendly staff and well away from the hustle and bustle of a hectic main town, nice and quiet, a place you can hear yourself think and can hear what your companion is saying to you :) worth a visit if you like olde worlde pubs.

On the road between oblivion and nowhere lies the farmers inn. The question is. Is this pub worth the 3 mile drive from the A75.
It was in the good beer guide, so I expected something special. The only real ale on was Ruddles County - losing points fast.
With low ceilings, stone walls and a finite quantity of whisky bottles reflecting the low evening sun, the pub scored quite reasonably on my quirkiness scale. Also noted were two mead jars.
In the games room Bob sat alone watching football on the rather loud tv. The food was fair and reasonably priced. The Ruddles was £2.50.
I dont know why but this place reminded me of Butlins, (Maybe it was the chalets round the back). I dont think I'll take the detour next time.
