Will Larter left this review about The Rose and Crown

I've been to Beverley a few times but never previously ventured as far as North Bar Without - that's the name of the street rather than the pub, obviously. The Rose & Crown is a rather interesting mock Tudor construction, rather higgledy piggledy and sadly dominated by a busy traffic lighted intersection on York Road, near the start of the straight five furlong start on the racecourse. Once safely across the road and through the beer garden on the east-facing side, this is a pleasant, light and airy pub. The blue painted wood panelling goes nicely with the upholstery and cushions on the chairs, and the windows, however fake their Tudorishness, cast a very agreeable light. The bar is in relative shade, with three hand pumps offering Timothy Taylor Landlord and two from local Great Newsome brewery. I went for Skipper, a "hoppy & smooth" IPA with a nice bitter finish, which I rated NBSS 4.5. I'd have given the pub an 8 but the background music was a bit intrusive. Would be happy to return next time I come to Beverley though.

The Rose and Crown is a decent looking pub that has got a mock tudor look to it,this pub is just outside the town gates and fairly close to the main market place.
Once inside here this is a really nice three roomed pub with two rooms at the front and a bar at the back.
I went in the front left room which was carpeted and quite cosy and comfortable and there was also a real fire which was very nice on a very cold day.
There were three real ales on the bar and i had a drink of Taylor Landlord which was a really nice drink the other beers were GK IPA and John Smiths cask.
This pub does food and there is now a Turkish landlord so there are a few turkish dishes on the menu.
I thought this was a really nice pub that is still like pubs used to be,i would have been very happy staying in here all afternoon.
