Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Grain Store

Probably could be quite an interesting venue, but unfortunately isn't. Claims to be a "gin emporium", but not many more such spirits visible than you would expect to find in many other city-centre pubs. Few other drinks of any sort either, and - on a Friday afternoon - nobody else in the gloomy bar or out on the pavement seating. With no real ale offered, I made do with a quick Sharp's Atlantic (£2.30, half) before catching my train...

Not particularly good I'm afraid. No real ale though that isn't the reason its poor, its just a pretty poor place anyway. Its one of those places that you have to go to because you're either married or trying to get your end away with whichever girl you're out with. Then again I'm just cynical. Basically its 2 areas on the ground floor and there might be an upstairs part, though I'm not sure.

Soup Dragon left this review about City Bar

This is a bistro, not a pub/bar. It is in two Georgian styled terraced town houses and has a patio area. The buildings are both in plain brick, with blue paintwork and both have sash windows and pediments above the doors. The interior has two floor, with the ground one having been knocked through into one room and is in white and blue wood panel, one half with a stone floor, the other with wood. The art is bistro flower stuff and the whole place is populated with tables - there is no bar area. There was no TV that i saw and the musicwas soft and general. The service was OK and a few people were in, eating. Beer; no real ale, no MILD, just basic taps with Kalt Pilsner, which was refreshing enough. Ultimately, you go here to eat - nothing for a real ale fan.
