Soup Dragon left this review about The Countryman

A modern, detached former hotel, with patio areas. It was built as a hotel in the 1960/70s - although it isn't clear if the accommodation was within, or in the chalets behing. It now feeds the Gower Holiday Village (same chalets and later, camping). A somewhat uninspiring triangle of a building, made a little more interesting by the roof alignments. It is in white and undressed brick. The interior is an open room, forming a U-shape around the serving bar. It is in white and pale green wood mainly, and has a mainly polystyrene tile ceiling and patterned carpet floor. It is a bit dull and soulless. It has a small stage area for the live music that appears for the clientele from the Holiday Village. There is a pool table, but i didn't see a TV. A few landscapey pictures and mirrors are on the walls, but in general, it looks bare. The music was mixed, with a bit of Lily Allen thrown in - Oh! joy, but it was at a decent level. The service was fine and a few were in from the village. Beer; usual tap stuff - no real ale despite two hanpulls. I had a bottle of Newcy brown. Nothing for the real ale fan - a functional place for holidaymakers.
