Thuck Phat left this review about Hoste Arms

The Hoste is a handsome and imposing building in the pretty village of Burnham Market, known locally and with good reason as Chelsea-on-Sea.
The hotel itself is huge and has been much extended behind the original building which remains in tact. On entering you walk straight into a traditional and cosy bar with open fire, wooden floors, worn wood furniture and the odd rug. It's decorated with local scenes, mainly stunning photographs and is a very nice place to be. Beyond the bar is the rest of the hotel and the rooms to both the left and right are dining rooms. Despite this it still feels like a proper boozer albeit a busy one at any time of the year.
The whole place is efficiently run as you'd expect with a place such as this which has built up a good reputation over many years. I've eaten here many times and there's an emphasis on local food. It's not cheap and it's not Michelin star but I've never had a bad meal here.
Three handpumps dispense Woodforde Wherry and Nelsons Revenge and Abbot. The Wherry is ubiquitous in these parts but the Nelsons Revenge is an excellent pint at 4.5% and well kept.
There are a number of benches outside where you can sit and watch the world go by, or at least try and park, in this overcrowded village.
I tend to drop in for the Nelsons Revenge whenever I'm in Burnham Market and will continue to do so.
