Quinno _ left this review about Blue Anchor

Comes with a bit of a reputation so was looking forward to it. A rambling old thatched place, loads of rooms, bare and whitewashed stone walls, nooks, crannies and quite homely in a well-worn way - fabulous. Four ales on plus some ciders; Theakston OP, Wadworth 6X, Wye Valley HPA and Tenby Harbour Pale. This is where the wheels fell off a bit as I got an NBSS 2.5 beer, barrel end (maybe?), but a flatish watery mess in a heavily pitted glass which was only fit for the bin. Mrs Quinno went for a Gwent Y Ddraig cider. As an experience it’s well worth a stop but my beer let the side down. On another day I might have tried another but the heavily pitted glass made me think better of it – little things like that make the difference between a good pub and great one…
