Quinno _ left this review about Tafarn John Y Gwas

Bright yellow roadside pub built in the early 1800's, which can be accessed by either the front door or via the car park, down a few steps. The pub has a stark white side bar with a TV (showing SKY news), darts and pool table. There's a cosy (if chilly on my visit) front area. Two real ales on the go - Brains Reverend James and an interesting fox-themed guest from a micro (I stupidly forgot to note the brewery) priced under £3 and both beers were in good nick. Tea and coffee came in big hearty mugs for a pound for our Des and Mrs Quinno. Food is served, though I ended up chatting with the gaffer so forgot to see what was actually available. Sadly, we were the only customers in the entire time (about an hour) that we were there. It was a worthwhile stop-off, for sure.

Beware the reduced winter opening times where they shut for a couple of hours in the afternoon, the GBG entry fails to mention it. Best phone ahead to check.
