Very tidy pub in an idyllic location - right on the sea front. There is a large window in the main bar that has a fantastic view over the cove. If the weather is good, some seating right on the front.

11:20am on a Sunday morning, so I didnt expect it to be open. The door was open, the barman was bottling up and he met my request with a "we do not judge here".

Two real ales on - A Purple Moose Bitter and a Bluestone Stone Cold Pale Ale. The latter was selected and in very decent nick.

Lovely.

A fairly pretty painted exterior draws you in and it’s quite nice and cosy inside with cream squared carpet, exposed stone walls - semi-modern but tasteful feeling. A dining room is off to the right and a pool room is at rear up a couple of steps. The star of the show is the amazing view from the huge front window facing towards the cove beach, framed by the jagged cliffs. Three ales on; Gales Seafarers, St Austell Tribute and the local Mantle MOHO, which drank pretty well. This was my definite favourite of the two pubs in the village.

The Pentre Arms is one of two pubs servicing the small picturesque seaside village of Llangrannog. A painted stone building from the outside, internally it is a main bar, dining room and separate games room up a few steps with pool table and fruit machines. The carpeted bar room wraps itself around the central serving area and has some excellent square windows with window bench seats from which you get excellent views of the sandy cove. And then there is a separate wooden floored, low beamed half-timbered dining room with wooden tables and chairs just laid for eating.
There are three Ale hand pumps and these were dispensing St Austel’s Tribute, Fullers Seafareres and something called Pentre Ale and the Seafarers was a well-kept pint.
It obviously leads with food to make the most from the holiday trade and there was a decent reasonable food menu available. But we were only here for a beer and this is also quite a smart comfortable pub just for that, especially if you can bag one of the bench window seats
Apparently Dylan Thomas was thrown out of this pub for helping himself to beer, but I am guessing it has changed a lot from his day.
