This is basically a restaurant these days with a bit of pub attached at the front. In a great location right on Marple Bridge with views of the river. A couple of small areas for drinkers as you enter and then up a few steps to a huge dining area. They've spent a lot of money here to remove any character it once had. A few ladies who lunch in on my Friday, early afternoon visit. Three handpumps on the bar with two on, pulling Doombar and a decent enough pint of Wainwright, but at a rip off £4.40 per pint. Had a look at the wine list for a laugh. Campo Viejo was being sold at £22.95 per bottle. We buy it regularly at Asda for a fiver. Another rip off. Go across the road to the Norfolk Arms rather than here. It's a proper pub.
